Our message to you

In the short space of time the world has been aware of Covid-19 life as we know it has ceased to exist. Across the globe friends, colleagues, and competitors have been affected in ways we cannot even begin to convey in writing.

Our commitment to our industry

Our entire industry is seasonal and heavily focused on the northern-hemisphere summer. This means many of our suppliers & customers have just come to the end of their 'winter-season' where they may have been subsidising their businesses.... The few weeks leading up to the Easter period historically mark the start of season, and a much needed return to income for these people, and for many the prospect of this has evaporated in front of their eyes.

Cancelled orders really wouldn't help this - so as a company, the Boathouse has committed to take all scheduled orders (where possible) and to prioritise payment to our suppliers.

Our commitment to our customers

As of 14/04/20 we are only accepting orders for in-stock items. This is to ensure our customers have complete confidence in our ordering process, and in timely delivery. Furthermore, our customers health and well-being is vitally important to us and so all deliveries will be undertaken in strict accordance with the government's guidelines & advice on Corona-virus. We are reviewing the official advice on a daily basis.

Specific customer measures taken for corona virus.

  • Shop by video-chat. Kieran, James, & Steve are more than happy to schedule a video 'e-appointment' to go through your needs, show you products, and answer any questions you may have. Please just call or email us to arrange.

  • Free Delivery on orders over £50 within 55 mile radius. We are here to support our local paddlesport community, who almost exclusively shop in-store. Therefore until the end of current lockdown restrictions we are offering free delivery on any order over £50, within a 55 mile radius of our store.

  • Local club discounts available on-line. If your canoe club benefits from discount at the boathouse we are making it possible for you to purchase online, inclusive of your club discount. You will need a code for this. If you do not already have this, pease contact Kieran on 01953 455265.

  • All pre-booked courses & tuition have been postponed. Customers have already been contacted and offered a refund or the opportunity to rebook at their discretion. Many have requested a voucher as the course was a gift for someone - we can do this if required

Our commitment to our sport

Now, more than ever, we understand the importance of paddlesports play in our everyday lives.  If lockdown has taught us nothing else, it has certainly taught us how vitally important it is to connect with nature and with other people, and how paddling fits this brief perfectly!

We will continue to support our sport throughout the pandemic - including both our financial and advice based support to British Canoeing.

Put simply, we love our sport, the people within it, our customers, and our lifestyle! We will do everything within our power to protect our business, our colleagues, our suppliers, our customers, and our friends where at all humanly possible!

Steve & James
